Etching

We have the ability to acid etch the majority of sabers. Etching is an effect where we can remove unprotected sections of the metal leaving behind the stencilled design. This gives the hilt a 3D feel and texture to the design and is one of the best ways to really customise your saber - making it unique to you.

This process is much harder than weathering and battle scarring as there is a lot more preparation and labour involved in doing this type of work.

As this process is very labour intensive, just like our weathering and battle scarring, etching can extend the lead time and increase the cost of the saber. It can take up to 2 weeks to get your saber customised - this is on top of the normal 2 week production time for the parts, core and assembly of everything.

There are a whole variety of etching options available, where you can select the location you want to be etched, the style of design you want and then the actual pattern based on the style you have chosen.

All etching is done by hand by Tom from TS Creations. His work is remarkable and this can be seen in all the photos we post on our social medial.

 

 

Above is an example of etching on the emitter, choke, switch and pommel. Each section is based on the same design style but has a different pattern on each section.

 

 

 

Etching on new sabers can be selected in one location or multiple locations depending on where you want your saber etched. You can have the etching done in addition to weathering and scarring.

 

To add etching to your saber then please select the option when ordering. Prices are all reflected on the product page and all customisation jobs are unique so will not be exactly identical to any other photos shown. Each saber is done on a job by job basis and all done by hand (with the assistance of some electrical tools for getting those battle scars, dents, cuts and scratches created where appropriate).

 

Due to etching being a customised job, tailored specifically for you, then there are some changes to returns on these sabers. Once we have started to work on your saber you would be unable to request a refund. Please see more information on our returns policy page about this.
